On some larger flat ice surface a strong pole was frozen to stand in the middle of the area. On top of the pole a circular wheel was attached, to which in turn several long crossbars were attached. At the end of each such crossbar a sledge was attached. The carousel was moved by pushing the central wheel with sticks. This ride quite often became extremely fast and was thus more used by bigger boys.
